Kidoodle.TV Review: Kid-Friendly Screen Time (Sponsored)

Kidoodle.TV

Disclosure: I participated in a Blog Blast program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kidoodle.TV. I received a promotional item and a free trial as a thank you for participating.

It’s no secret that I let my kids watch TV. We don’t have cable, so we depend on internet streaming services to bring entertainment in our home. I’ve become increasingly frustrated with my limited abilities to censor the TV my children can watch as well as the amount of screen time they receive each day.

Kidoodle.TV

That’s why I was excited to review Kidoodle.TV. It’s a whole new ball game for parents looking to grab five minutes (or more!) of peace and quiet. Kidoodle.TV is a child-specific television streaming service. Whether your kids watch online or on your iPad, you can tailor their TV viewing down to each individual child (up to five kids). You can limit their time allowed each day (awesome!), you can filter shows based on age, and my favorite feature; you can prohibit any specific show you don’t want your child watching! These controls are password protected, so even your tech genius kiddo can’t switch them around. Kidoodle.TV offers a bright, children-friendly interface that is easy to navigate so you can sleep on the couch do the dishes for an uninterrupted five or more minutes!

Kidoodle.TV Giveaway

You can try Kidoodle.TV for free for the remainder of December! No credit card required. Starting Jan. 1, Kidoodle.TV is a mere $4.99 a month, well worth the sanity it provides. Kidoodle.TV is also hosting a seriously awesome giveaway: try Kidoodle.TV through the month of December and you’ll be entered to win 1 of 10 tablets or 1 of 10 yearlong subscriptions to Kidoodle.TV!

You can follow Kidoodle.TV on Twitter or Facebook for more information!

FAQ – 24 Days of Mormon Christmas

24 Days of Mormon Christmas

Here are some of my most popular questions about 24 Days of Mormon Christmas!

I found this past December 1, is it too late for me to use for my family? Answer: Nope, not at all! I’m a firm believer in doing what works for you and your family. That means use it from the 7th to the 24th, use it every other day, use it on Mondays, use it once and save it for next year. Whatever works for your family and your schedule!

When will I get my files? Answer: Instantly! The files will be sent instantly to your PayPal email address. If it’s not there, check your spam folders. The files will be sent only if the payment has cleared. For checks and paypal accounts, this is instant, but for e-checks, this can take a day or two.

Do I need a PayPal account? Answer: No, a credit card works, I just use PayPal to protect your privacy.
I went to open my file and it didn’t save it. Now it’s telling me my download expired? Answer: You get three “clicks” to download the file. This works great for downloading on diferrent devices. I suggest saving the file very first!

Can you just reset my download limit? Answer: Yes and no. Yes, I can, and I will. But it will be on my schedule when I have some time between my own busy holiday season and needs of my family. Did I mention saving it first? :)

Is this different than last year? Answer: The links have been updated but the content is the same. This is meant to be a yearly tradition, and doesn’t need to be purchased from year to year.

How to I put the file on my iPad? or my Kindle? Or my _______ device? Answer: I’m not a tech guru but I will answer emails as I can. Your best bet is to google “how to put pdf file on _______ (device).” There is a simple solution to virtually every device out there!

Can I email the gift license to everyone I know? Answer: How popular are you? :) You have the license to send up to one hundred times. After that, it’s copyright infringement. More importantly, this license is limited to one hundred total, if you send to 100 friends you will need to repurchase the gift edition!

Airway Management

Note: I received compensation to inform you of this educational campaign. The opinions found below are my own.Keep Calm Pillow

I was happy to be contacted by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine in regards to sharing with your their campaign “Keep Calm and Sleep On” to promote awareness of sleep apnea. I try to choose campaigns, reviews, and giveaways carefully for this blog that I feel will be of interest to you. While sleep apnea may not be something you think about very often, it is something that I find myself frequently thinking of as I fall asleep, listening to the uneven breathing patterns of my husband. My husband has sleep apnea.

From almost the very beginning of our marriage, I noticed something about his breathing during sleep: it paused. He would breathe… breathe… {no breathing}{still no breathing – one one thousand, two one thousand three one thousand} ten seconds or longer later, he would breathe very shallowly and then, finally, a deep breath. I told my husband this many times over the years, but it wasn’t until my father in law had a stroke in which sleep apnea was discovered to be the cause, that he finally agreed to take a sleep study test!

My husband was tested, and indeed, he had sleep apnea! The typical course of treatment for sleep apnea is a cPAP machine. My husband had a second sleep study test which he reported was the worst night of sleep of his life. The cPAP machine forced air into his mouth and he felt like he couldn’t exhale. Finally, his doctor recommended an oral sleep treatment called Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT).

Oral Appliance Therapy

Oral Appliance Therapy

According to the AADSM,

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a condition that causes people to suddenly stopbreathing during sleep anywhere from about 10 seconds to more than a minute. This can happen up to hundreds of times a night. Currently, more than 12 to 18million U.S. adults suffer from sleep apnea.

Sleep apnea is a potentially life-threatening condition that can increase the riskfor serious health problems, including:

  • Congestive heart failure
  • Stroke
  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease
  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Depression
  • Impotence

The Symptoms

  • Loud, frequent and habitual snoring
  • Breathing during sleep that abruptly stops

If you or a loved one exhibit any of these symptoms please consult with a sleep physician. To find out more about sleep apnea and Oral Appliance Therapy, visit localsleepdentist.com. You can also click here to read a Q&A about Oral Appliance Therapy!

In honor of the Keep Calm and Sleep On campaign, the AADSM is offering my readers the chance to win a $50 Bed, Bath, and Beyond Gift Card! The giveaway will end on October 17 at 12:00 a.m. MST. The giveaway has now ended.
