Bon Bons and Soap Operas

Yesterday I woke up at 5:30 a.m. to a text from my husband, who was already at work. He apologetically informed me that, to finish an important project, he’d be spending the next 48 hours or so at work.

Yippee!

Need I mention this was the first day of the World’s Longest Spring Break? (11 Days. For real.)
After tossing and turning for about an hour, I finally drifted back to sleep.

Confession: I let Jordan take care of Abigail in the morning and talked myself out of bed about 9 a.m. Nice!

I’m not sure if it was that bummer news or my meds were just not working, which sometimes happens, but I had no motivation the rest of the day.

We did a little house cleaning in the morning. That pretty much sapped my energy. I spent the rest of the day dealing with a whiny, sick baby and avoiding doing much of anything.

The kids went to the park. When Jordan called to say he was bringing Rebecca and Nicole home because they ran away from him and hid, I was disappointed.

After all, Abigail was sleeping and I was in bed eating a chocolate bar and watching TV. Not actually bon bons, and I’d rather have a sick baby than watch a soap opera… but I’m pretty sure the concept is the same. Especially at 4:30 in the afternoon, when I should be making dinner. Or something productive like that.

Flickr has a group pool where people submitted their take on the phrase, “Keep Calm and Carry On.” I think I need to frame this:

Keep calm and...

Minus, of course, the bank holiday information about Prince William’s wedding. Though I will make a note to stay in bed on that day.

Note: I took the first opportunity I could to take the girls up to my mom’s house. After all, no sense in being alone and depressed all weekend.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to wipe some boogers and have a conversation with a Little Pony.
