This is the first week of the Walk Beside Me Preschool Curriculum!

There are a few printables that every packet will have. Every packet will have a (simplified) scripture to memorize, and a song of the week. The song will correlate with the Gospel lesson, and the scripture will correlate with the letter of the week.

Each packet will also have a short scripture story and a practice letter writing page. With the story, I suggest reading it then helping them find both the lower and uppercase letters of the week. Both of these I keep in a sheet protector to use with a dry erase marker. Nicole loves that when she messes up she can easily erase it. She’s a bit of a perfectionist–in fact, I gave her a writing sheet today to use with a crayon and she was quite upset when she realized it wouldn’t erase!

After that, there will be several printables that will vary. I will try to always throw a one or two number recognition/math worksheets in along the way. The worksheets will also teach skills such as size relation or opposites. As much as possible I will try to keep with the letter of the week theme. For instance, on the big and small worksheet, it features airplanes, alligators, and apples.

Have your child draw a line on the thing that “goes together” with the first object. (Acrobat to circus tent, Adam to Eve, etc.)

This is a simple puzzle. You can laminate for added durability.

{Edited to add: one of my most frequent questions is about the Absorption page included in this document. All I did was place items of various absorption abilities (a clean diaper, a plastic plate, a paper towel, etc) on a tray. We numbered each item 1 through 6. We then made guesses about which item soak up the most water. Then we used a baby Tylenol dropper to drop some water on the items and wrote down our “results” as far as which absorbed the best/least/etc. I hope that helps!}
