One question I get asked frequently about these easy family home evening lessons is what to do when you, for some reason, skip a lesson. Maybe you have a special lesson planned (for a baptism, perhaps), or maybe life was just too complicated and dinner was on the table at 7:30 p.m. (It happens. To me, at least.) Do you skip the lesson all together, or do you keep going in order? Let me tell you what I do: skip it! First off, this is most likely what would happen if your child missed a day of Primary. Second, if you are like me and happen to skip, *ahem* a few lessons, you will be very discouraged at the end of the year when you are only halfway through the Book of Mormon lessons! If this doesn’t bother you, and you don’t mind finished up mid-2013 or so, then do the lessons. But if you like sticking on the same approximate track as the rest of the Church for lessons, then feel free to move right ahead. That said, this week’s lesson is:

Week 2: Abinadi and King Noah

Just found the FHE lessons, and want to start from the beginning? Or just too lazy to grab all those downloads? No problem! You can buy the entire year’s worth of lessons for only $10. Which saves you the trouble of remembering to come back each week. Pretty much worth it, in my book!

When I click on the link it comes up at February week 2 lesson.

  2. I was thinking about what you were saying about skipping the lesson as it is now 8 minutes till 8 and my last one is finishing up his cereal DINNER. It was a long day of cleaning the yard and then baths…plus it made all the kids happy!

Anyways…I was thinking I didn’t want to skip the lesson and it dawned on me that we don’t have to skip it. We will just have FHE tomorrow. And if I can’t do it tomorrow, I have Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat and even Sun evening to get it done…So…actually, you don’t have to skip the lesson…just the day! It doesn’t matter what day you have FHE..what is important, is that you HAVE FHE!!!

    • Your comments just made me smile! I’m so glad you found FHE Made Easy, and frankly, I’m glad there’s someone out there in the world having cereal for dinner other than me and my family!! FHE can be sooooo hard. I’m not sure if it’s because it comes at the end of the day when I’m ready to put kids in bed or because Satan knows how powerful family home evening can be but man, oh, man do we struggle. My husband is rarely even HOME on Monday evenings, so I understand skipping days… or waiting a few days… just get it done. Thanks for the reminder!!

  3. just to mention…before the thought of this blog came into mind, I was thinking how it was too late and we would just have FHE tomorrow and then the thought came, “But I don’t want to skip the lesson.” Yeah..my brain..not all there… lol
