Walk Beside Me LDS Preschool: S is for Samuel the Lamanite
Do you ever have those weeks where, at the end, you realize just how busy it was and how crazy it went… and you kind of feeling like a super mom, but you also just reallyreallyreally want a nap?
It’s been one of those weeks. I pulled up these printables to get ready to go sometime yesterday morning… and I’m just now getting to them. I’ve been so busy
I’ve barely even looked at Facebook.
Now that’s busy!
But that’s unimportant. What is important is that I finally have the next installment of the Walk Beside Me LDS Preschool curriculum ready to go. Duh da da dunnn! (That’s music. Or something.)
Feeling tired, and just kinda lazy tonight, so here are some awesome resources to get you going:
“Samuel the Lamanite Tells About Jesus” from the Mormon Channel (a 30 minute little Primary lesson)
Samuel the Lamanite picture story from The Friend
“Samuel the Lamanite Tells About Jesus” from the Book of Mormon Stories videos
Act it out! from LDSSplash.com
Does anyone else say/sing Sam-u-el when they write out that name? Or is it just me?
I thought this was kind of fun from Liken.TV:
Samuel the Lamanite – Blooper Reel #1
You can buy a digital copy of the Samuel the Lamanite movie from Liken.TV for only $7.99. I’m not paid or bribed to say this but we love these movies, and to get a TV show my kids will watch and teaches them scripture for the price of a movie ticket? The DVD is only $14.95, if you like your movies old-school.
This week’s secular focus is on “singing” which is also known as “music week!” But music doesn’t start with an S. There are lots of fun activities planned in the easy to follow Walk Beside Me schedule.
Have any questions about the Walk Beside Me LDS Preschool Curriculum? Check out the FAQ Page here. Or, click here to get the introduction to the whole curriculum. Please check out the Walk Beside Me store–I offer this curriculum for free, but hope that you’ll order from the store for your materials. Amazon gives me a small percentage of the proceeds, which helps me fund this massive project!
Another advertisement for you… I came across these darling Kindle books the other day and they are just too cute not to share. A family has taken 25 of the most important stories from the Book of Mormon and summarized them. Then their children illustrated them! If you’re looking for the super easiest intro into the scriptures ever, you’ve got to check out Book of Mormon for Kids ($1!) and the LDS Scriptures for Kids (BoM, P of GP, D&C) is only $3.
Enjoy learning with your child!
